Sorry about your contract status. The Impact Wrestling roster has been all over the place as of late with a long list of names leaving the promotion in recent weeks. Some of the names have been bigger than others but it seems that there is another potentially big departure on the way.

According to PWInsider by way of 411mania.com, James Storm may be on his way out of the promotion. Storm’s contract with the company expires in January of 2018 and the upcoming television tapings could well be his last appearances with the company. Storm has been with Impact Wrestling since 2002, save for a short period at the end of 2015 where he made a few appearances in NXT.

Storm used to be a huge deal.

Bound For Glory 2012: James Storm vs. Bobby Roode - Street Fight

Opinion: Storm is one of those guys who has been around forever (since the first show in fact) and I’d be a bit sad to see him go. That being said, it’s clear that the company has no interest in pushing him as a top guy so there’s almost no reason to believe that the company is going to push him as a stop star. It’s been one lame midcard story after another so why keep doing the same thing over and over again while expecting something new?

What have you thought of Storm’s run with the company? Should he have stayed with NXT? Let us know in the comments below.
