Change of plans. Earlier this week on “Smackdown Live”, Shane McMahon granted Rusev a spot in a Survivor Series qualifying match against AJ Styles. On the same show, Styles defeated Samir Singh to advance his feud with Smackdown World Champion Jinder Mahal. After the match, Mahal attacked Styles, which caused things to change.

As announced Thursday on Twitter, McMahon has announced that Styles will be receiving a title shot against Mahal this coming week on “Smackdown Live” in Manchester, England. There is currently no word on what will happen to the qualifying match or if Rusev will be given another opponent.

Here’s how Styles dealt with Mahal’s lackey.

AJ Styles makes quick work of Samir Singh: SmackDown LIVE, Oct. 31, 2017

Opinion: I can’t imagine they would change the title so close to “Survivor Series 2017” but you have to have hope. Styles vs. Brock Lesnar is a genuine dream match and FAR more interesting than Lesnar vs. Mahal, which is looking like a one off match with next to no interest whatsoever.

Do you think Styles will win the title? If he doesn’t take the title from Mahal, who will? Let us know in the comments below.
