Who else is there? Right around five years ago, the WWE Women’s Revolution officially kicked off as Charlotte, Becky Lynch and Sasha Banks all made the full time move to the main roster. The three were instant stars, with Charlotte becoming champion in short order with Lynch and Banks following in her footsteps the next year. Things had clearly changed, but no one knew how big of a change it would be. Various milestones have been hit, and now we may be ready to see another, with a new featured star.
Back in October 2018, WWE presented Evolution, the first ever all women’s pay per view. That was one of the biggest nights in the history of women’s wrestling, as for the first time ever, WWE was trusting their women’s division to take over the entire night and see what they could do with it. Ronda Rousey was a major focal point of the show but she has since left. WWE needs someone new, and now they might have someone to work the sequel.
According to Pro Wrestling Unlimited, WWE is considering running another all women’s Evolution show on August 30 from the Performance Center in Orlando, Florida. The focal point of the show could be Tessa Blanchard, who is rumored to have either signed with WWE or is ready to sign. This comes after reports of WWE having another WWE Network event planned for August 30, the Sunday after Summerslam.
The first event worked pretty well. Check out how the show went down:
Opinion: This is another situation that I would put firmly in the “I’ll believe it when I see it” category. Blanchard is a big star outside of WWE, but that is a pretty big statement to tack onto the end. There is no guarantee that she can or will be such a big star in WWE and her signing with the company is far from a lock. I could go for another Revolution, but we could be a long way from the show actually taking place.
