The response. While it has calmed down a bit in recent weeks, the SpeakOut movement has become one of the biggest stories in recent years in professional wrestling. Dozens of wrestlers have been accused of various forms of sexual misconduct over the last few weeks, with several wrestlers admitting that the stories are true. Some have not done so though and another is denying it in some strong terms.

One of the biggest stars facing accusations has been Matt Riddle, who is accused of forcing a woman named Candy Cartwright into performing sexual acts while in the back of a van surrounded by sleeping wrestlers. Riddle has denied the allegations and claims that Cartwright is stalking him and his family. Cartwright has come back with evidence of a relationship between the two of them, prompting Riddle to issue a more detailed response.

There is a lot in here. Check out Riddle’s response to the allegations:

Riddle has released a video on Twitter, responding to the allegations from Cartwright. He denies all allegations of assault but does admit to an affair that the two of them had. Riddle does not condone cheating on his wife but denies all other accusations, suggesting that Cartwright is angry at him over attempting to end their relationship. Riddle says that Cartwright refused to accept him ending things and is trying to ruin his career as a result. So far, WWE has not publicly punished Riddle in any way and Riddle premiered on the main roster after the allegations were made public.

Opinion: I don’t know what happened with Riddle and Cartwright but WWE seems to have seen enough evidence to allow him to continue his career without any major punishment. I have no idea if what Riddle is saying is true, but he has responded to the allegations and for now, this seems to be the end of things. The emphasis is on the “for now” part though, as you never know what other kind of evidence might come up in the future.
