Ronda Rousey Returning To WWE Programming (Kind Of)

Welcome back (kind of). Ronda Rousey made her WWE debut just under three years ago when she appeared at the end of the 2018 Royal Rumble. It would be a huge understatement to say that she made an impact as she rocketed up to the top of the card and headlined WrestleMania 35 the following year. Rousey has not been seen in WWE since, but now she is kind of coming back.

One of the bigger stories of the year was the new WWE rule looking at third party platforms. This included platforms such as Twitch, which several wrestlers used to stream video games online. It seemed that WWE wanted in on the lucrative platforms and it would not be surprising to see them trying their own version. Now that a few months have passed, WWE seems to be trying something similar, at least as a one off edition.

WWE has announced a special called the Superstar Gaming Series, which will feature WWE superstars, including Rousey, gaming against various celebrities. The event will take place on December 29 on all WWE social media platforms and will feature Among Us and WWE2K Battlegrounds. Other WWE stars participating will include the Miz, Shayna Baszler, Adam Cole, Liv Morgan, Tyler Breeze and Jessamyn Duke. There is no word on f

Opinion: This sounds like it could be something cool and it isn’t all that surprising given Rousey’s interest in gaming. I’m not sure if she is going to want to get back in the ring at some point in the future but it is cool to see her associated with WWE in some way. She is still in her early 30s so it isn’t like her window is closing or anything close to it. I could go with seeing her again, but just having her do something like this works as well.
