Roddy Piper Biopic Movie Announced

He could be fascinating. Wrestlers have some of the most unique lives in all of sports and/or entertainment. Not only are they trying to act in front of a live audience with usually nothing there as a safety net, but they also have to stay in great shape while traveling the roads. This isn’t the kind of thing that anyone can do but now we might get another look at what he did.

Recent years have seen a rise in the development of new stories about wrestlers, in the form of documentaries, scripted films and television. With so many stories out there to tell, it is great to see wrestling getting this kind of attention. The good thing about wrestling is that there are so many options to pick from and now one of the greatest of all time will get a nice addition.

Film director Howard Newacheck appeared on a November edition of the This Is Important podcast, where he revealed that he will be directing a biopic on Rowdy Roddy Piper. The fill will be produced by the Rock’s Seven Bucks Production. There is no other news on the film, including stars, a release date or what the film will promotion. Piper wa an actor himself, appearing in several action films over his career.

Opinion: Works for me. Piper has one of the more interesting lives of the top stars in wrestling and it would be great to get to see a film about his life. Granted it is all going to depend on who is playing Piper, because he is the definition of one of a kind. Piper had all you could ask for in a wrestler and I’m curious to see how that is going to work on the big screen. Even if it doesn’t work, at least it is getting the chance.
