Rhea Ripley Impersonates The Rock, The Rock Responds

That’s quite the tribute. In the history of professional wrestling, there may never be a crossover star on the Rock’s level. After becoming one of the biggest wrestling stars of all time, Rock has moved on to become possibly the biggest stars in all of Hollywood. You don’t see something like that very often and now a current NXT star is offering him a bit of a tribute.

There are certain wrestlers where the star power shines through as soon as they debut. You can see something about them that catches your attention and it stays right there no matter what happens. That is the kind of thing that a promotion should be capitalizing on in a heartbeat and WWE has done just that with a current star. As it turns out, she seems to be a Rock fan.

Rhea Ripley has posted a photo replicating the Rock’s 1994 photo featuring her standing in a sweater and fanny pack with her thumb behind the pack. The Rock commented on the photo, saying that Ripley was “already cooler than the other side of the pillow” but this took her to the next level. The Rock’s daughter Simone Johnson, currently wrestling in NXT, commented as well, asking “why”.

Opinion: Ripley is one of those people who catches your attention the second she comes on screen and it is cool to see her getting some recognition from one of the biggest stars of all time. I’m not sure what is next for Ripley, but even a mild endorsement like this could help her move forward just a bit. Hopefully she is on the main roster sooner than later, because there isn’t much left for her in NXT.
