Issues in the work place. The Royal Rumble can be a very weird place for wrestlers. You never know what you’re going to get when you sit through a match like that. This year in particular saw a few surprises, with one of the biggest all night being Nia Jax taking R-Truth’s place at #30 in the men’s Royal Rumble. As it turns out though, there was a lot more to the scene than that.
According to Jerry Lawler on his Dinner With The King podcast via Wrestlinginc.com, there was legitimate heat between R-Truth and Jax after the incident, as Jax attacked R-Truth a bit too hard, sending him face first into the barricade. Lawler went on to say that R-Truth had to be held back backstage after Jax returned to the locker room. At the same time though, Lawler did praise Jax for making the attack look good.
R-Truth really wasn’t happy, and he went Jax hunting. Check out R-Truth going after her after the match:
Opinion: I didn’t think the attack was all that bad, but maybe it was worth than it seemed to be on the broadcast. R-Truth has been around for a very long time and knows what it’s like to have someone go too hard. Jax doesn’t exactly have the best reputation in the world as far as injuring other wrestlers and this is another mark against her. It doesn’t look good, though R-Truth wound up with the United States Title so the week wasn’t a total loss.
