Viper wanted on set. Randy Orton is getting ready to challenge Smackdown World Champion Jinder Mahal at “Battleground 2017” in a Punjabi Prison match. That’s quite the undertaking but first, Orton has a non-wrestling matter to attend to and it’s going to keep him off WWE TV for a few weeks.
Randy Orton vs Aiden English: SmackDown LIVE, July 4, 2017
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter by way of Wrestlinginc.com, Orton will be taking a few weeks off from WWE TV to film the Seth Green directed movie “Changeland”. Orton will be back from his time off after “Battleground 2017” but he will be working the pay per view as scheduled.
Opinion: The good thing is “Smackdown Live” has enough talent around to make up for Orton’s absence. It’s only a few weeks and the focus can be put on AJ Styles vs. Kevin Owens instead. If nothing else just have Orton film some promos that can air on the show instead. This isn’t a big deal and there shouldn’t be any major shakeups as a result.
Have you liked Orton’s acting roles? If he doesn’t take the title off Mahal, who will? Let us know in the comments below.
