Someone has to win it. Tonight WWE presented its annual Money in the Bank pay per view, mainly focusing on the two namesake ladder matches and the briefcases. These two matches are things that can change the course of a wrestler’s career as they can guarantee themselves a title shot at any time they want, even if another match is already going on. The person cashing in wins the title most of the time, so winning it here would be a big deal. So who pulled down the briefcases this year?

Tonight at Money in the Bank, Braun Strowman won the men’s Money in the Bank ladder match while Alexa Bliss won the female version. However, later on in the show, Bliss actually cashed in her briefcase on Raw Women’s Champion Nia Jax. Bliss attacked Jax’s original challenger Ronda Rousey to cost Rousey her shot and then successfully cashed in her briefcase to win the title. This is Bliss’ fifth title reign and the third shortest amount of time that someone cashed in a briefcase at approximately two hours and 54 minutes.

Alexa Bliss succeeded in becoming "Goddess of the Bank": WWE Exclusive, June 18, 2018

Opinion: I’m not a fan of the briefcases whatsoever so it’s rather nice to get one of them out of the way this early. It gets annoying having them around all the time so cashing one of them in this fast is as good as it’s likely going to get. Strowman winning the other briefcase is fine, though I wonder how long it’s going to be before he’s actually able to cash in given that Brock Lesnar is so rarely around. At least the matches were good though and that’s what matters, at least in part.

Do you like the two winners? When will Strowman get to cash in? Let us know in the comments below.
