Strike up the band! For most of the last year, Rusev has become one of the hottest acts in the WWE. With Aiden English singing the way for him, the Rusev Day concept has caught on like fire and has moved Rusev from midcarder all the way up to a World Title shot at this Sunday’s Extreme Rules pay per view. The idea is that each day is Rusev Day, but now something has made it official.
According to a new article on WWE.com, Thursday, July 12 was officially Rusev Day in Knox County, Tennessee. The announcement was made at an auction held by current Knox County Mayor Tim Burchett and attended by Rusev, as well as Kane, who is running to succeed Burchett in the office. Rusev is scheduled to challenge AJ Styles for the WWE Title this Sunday at Extreme Rules.
They would celebrate if they were in Tennessee.
Opinion: That’s just cool. You hear about how it’s Rusev Day every single day and now, by order of the head of a rather large local government. Rusev lives in Tennessee to make this even more special for him. It’s a cool thing for someone to get and after all the years of hard work, it’s nice to see Rusev finally getting some recognition for everything he’s done to get where he is today.
Do you think Rusev wins the title on Sunday? If not then, will he ever? Let us know in the comments below.
