So now it’s on. One of the biggest stories of the summer in WWE has been the status of Brock Lesnar. Having not been seen since his last Universal Title defense against Roman Reigns at Greatest Royal Rumble on April 27, the question has become when will Lesnar be back. With rumors circulating that he might not even be defending the title at next month’s Summerslam, fans weren’t exactly pleased. As it turns out though, we may have some relief in sight.

According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Lesnar is now official for Summerslam as well as the post Summerslam edition of Monday Night Raw. At the moment there is no confirmation of who Lesnar will be defending the title against, but Roman Reigns and Bobby Lashley are the most likely candidates. The two are scheduled to face off at Sunday’s Extreme Rules in a match that was originally a #1 contenders match.

Could this be a Summerslam preview?

Braun Strowman manhandles Brock Lesnar in unprecedented fashion: Summerslam 2017 (WWE Network)

Opinion: I wasn’t entirely convinced that Lesnar would be missing Summerslam but it did seem to be quite the possibility. This gives me a little room to relax though the fact that Lesnar is scheduled for the next night’s TV makes me a little less confident that he will lose the title at the pay per view. There’s a real chance that WWE might throw us a swerve by having Lesnar retain and then drop the title to a Money in the Bank cash-in. Or he holds it until WrestleMania next year. Neither would really surprise me.

Do you think Lesnar loses at Summerslam? Who does he drop the title to? Let us know in the comments below.
