That’s a weird challenge. The Wednesday Night Wars have been rather fascinating to see over the last year plus as AEW Dynamite and NXT have gone head to head almost every week. AEW has won most of the weeks but it has not been a complete destruction. Things are still relative close most weeks but now we might be getting to see a different kind of competition.
Commentary is one of the most important parts of any wrestling show as it gives fans a guide to show where things are supposed to go. It might be about showing what the company wants to focus on or telling the stories they are featuring. The right commentary team can bring a show up several steps and now the two shows’ commentary teams are going at it.
NXT commentator Beth Phoenix sent out a tweet saying that the NXT commentary team, consisting of herself, Wade Barrett and Vic Joseph, can beat up other commentary teams. AEW commentator Excalibur responded, asking if Phoenix wanted to put $5 on it and posting a photo of himself, Taz and Brodie Lee Jr. on commentary. Phoenix jokingly said that it was unfair, with Excalibur saying he had to bring in the heater.

Opinion: Ok so this isn’t the most serious discussion in the world but there is nothing wrong with the two shows having a little fun with each other. Phoenix certainly seemed to be having a good time and Excalibur’s response was rather funny. This was a nice little exchange and far better than the insanity that took place between WWE and WCW during the Monday Night Wars.
