WWE Forced Into Last Minute Change To Superstar Spectacle

Card subject to change. A wrestling show is a tricky thing to put together as you can have all of the plans in the world but something might need to be switched at the very last second. This can happen at any given moment and sometimes you might not know what is going on. Unfortunately that seems to be the case again and this time around, it caused someone to miss a pretty important show.

WWE has been trying to make inroads into the country of India, which offers the second largest market in the world for the company. It makes sense that they are trying to make it into the country and their new effort includes a special called the Superstar Spectacle. The show featured WWE stars in the ring with Indian wrestlers, several of whom have appeared for WWE before. One of them had to be changed at the last minute though and it isn’t for the best reason.

A video aired during the Superstar Spectacle advertising a tag team match between Kavita Devi and Charlotte against Natalya and Bayley. However, after the video, WWE announced that Devi was forced to return to India to deal with a family emergency. According to PWInsider.com, the emergency was legitimate and Devi did miss the taping on Friday. Devi has appeared for the company a few times, wrestling in two Mae Young Classics, as well as the WrestleMania XXXIV battle royal and another battle royal at Worlds Collide. There is no word on when Devi will be back.

Opinion: This is something that is going to happen every now and then and it is a shame that Devi was unable to have a chance to work on such an important show. Devi has a bit of experience on bigger shows like this and might have worked well in such a spot. Hopefully she gets a chance to do something better in the future and maybe she can showcase herself in a better light.
