That would be a crossover. There are all kinds of characters in wrestling and it is pretty hard to come up with something actually original or fresh. With so many things that have been done before, there is very little left to see. Sometimes you need to look into other areas to make it work, and that seems to be what NXT is going for with one of its newer characters.
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Mei Ying of NXT’s Tian Sha stable will be billed as over 1,000 years old and will be presented like Yoda from Star Wars. When she eventually wrestles a match, she will be a martial arts expert. Ying is being portrayed by Karen Q, who has been out of action for nearly two years with a knee injury. There is no word on when she will wrestle again.
This could be interesting. Check out Karen Q and what she has become:
Opinion: I’m not sure what to expect from this, but at least they have something different here. What matters is that they have an idea, as Ying as some kind of supernatural character could certain make a bit of an impact. If nothing else, it is nice to see Karen Q back in the ring after such a long time off, as that is a very long time to be out of the ring because of any reason.
What do you think of the idea? How will it work in practice? Let us know in the comments below.
