Guess what’s back? Way back on the Fourth of July, 1988, the NWA introduced a concept called WarGames. The match became the company’s signature match and the ultimate in team combat. However, after 1998, the match went into storage for nineteen years and wasn’t seen again until last year when NXT resurrected it for one of the most anticipated matches in WWE history. This time though, the wait may not be as long.

As announced on WWE.com, NXT will be bringing back WarGames this year on November 17 in Los Angeles for the Takeover before WarGames. This will be the second year the match has taken place in a row after last year’s three way version between the Undisputed Era, the Authors of Pain/Roderick Strong and Sanity. There is currently no word on who will be in the match or how large the teams will be.

In case you don’t know WarGames.

Opinion: Works for me. I know it gets annoying when WWE puts up a gimmick match on schedule every year but it’s not exactly the case in NXT. They don’t exactly do a lot of gimmick matches in the first place so having one major edition a year is an acceptable idea, especially something like this. There’s a good chance we’ll be seeing the Undisputed Era against the British contingent, which could make for a heck of a fight. Just give us something violent and all the boxes will be checked.
