Down For Now: WWE Offers Update On Sami Zayn's Injury Status, To Miss Time

He got it back! There are all kinds of injuries that can keep a wrestler out of action. Some of them are rather serious and can keep someone on the shelf for a very good while. At the same time, there are some injuries who can put someone down for just a while amount of time. On top of all that though, there are injuries that are only part of a storyline and can let a wrestler get away for a bit. One of those options is now causing a wrestler to miss some time.

Last week on Monday Night Raw, Drew McIntyre defeated Sami Zayn in a match where Zayn suffered a leg injury of some kind. Later in the show, McIntyre attacked Zayn again backstage. This week, WWE announced that Zayn had suffered a partially torn meniscus, resulting in Zayn being put on the shelf for the time being. There is no word on how long Zayn will be out of action. This comes after Zayn requested time off from WWE, suggesting that the injury is not legitimate, though this has not been confirmed.

Opinion: What matters here is that Zayn is not going to be around for a bit, but it also means that he is going to have something waiting on him when he comes back. Zayn vs. McIntyre in a big showdown at some point down the line should be a good fight and that is what WWE seems to have set up here.
