For a different reason. There are all kinds of wrestlers on the WWE roster and most of them go through their careers with little to no controversy. They show up, they wrestle and the move on without much drama. That is not the case for everyone though and it can be quite problematic when it happens. Now it seems to have happened again and a wrestler is out of work as a result.

Matt Riddle has announced that he is no longer working for WWE, suggesting that he has been released from the company. This comes after Riddle has been missing from WWE TV following an accusation of sexual assault against a Port Authority officer when Riddle was described as being “heavily intoxicated”. There was no reason given for the release, though according to Fightful Select, Riddle had burned through one bridge too many with the company. There is nothing to indicate that this is connected to the 17+ wrestlers released earlier this week.
Just wanted to inform everyone that I’m no longer with WWE. Thank you for the memories and opportunities also thank you to all the fans for the support and love you give me every time I go out to the ring. See you all soon ? pic.twitter.com/fpuQkIJAFx

Riddle was a big deal in WWE. Check out some of his time there:
Opinion: Riddle is a very talented star and someone worth having around in WWE, but there comes a point where there is one too many bits of drama or problems or whatever else. It would seem like Riddle has long since surpassed that point, leaving this as not quite the biggest surprise. There is a good chance that Riddle is back in the ring at a high level someday, but for now he needs to go away for a bit.
