Keep them coming. WWE is becoming a truly international wrestling company with various different promotions around the world. The main ones are of course in the United States but the company also has NXT UK over in the United Kingdom. That place has grown quite a bit in recent years but WWE needs to keep it moving going forward. Now they are at least bringing in some fresh blood.
The big news coming out NXT UK this week was the signing of Meiko Satomura, a Japanese legend with more than twenty five years experience inside the ring. Satomura will be working in NXT UK as both a wrestler and as a trainer, which should keep her around for a long time to come. She is going to have a few new students though, as Satomura was not the only signing this week.
WWE has announced four new signings to NXT UK, including Satomura. The names included are Tony Gill, Metehan Kocabasoglu and Bailey Matthews. Gill is best known as Gursinder Singh in Impact Wrestling as part of the Desi Hit Squad. Kocabasoglu is a former WXW Champion under the name Lucky Kid. Finally, Matthews is the son of William Regal who has wrestled for Evolve, Progress and WXW.
Opinion: These names might not be the biggest stars in the world but they might become so one day. That’s why WWE brings these people in: at some point you need to restock the shelves and get some fresh names. I’m not sure what they are going to do over in NXT UK but at least they are going to have a chance to do something, which is more than a lot of wrestlers have had the chance to do.
