There’s still time for more. You might have forgotten about it, but we are less than two days away from Elimination Chamber. The show has not exactly had the strongest build in the world, mainly because for a time, it was one of three shows that WWE was building towards at the same time. That hasn’t turned out very well so far, as WWE is still putting the show together at the last minute.
Over the last few weeks, Daniel Bryan has been working with some people not quite on his level. This has included Heath Slater and Curtis Axel, but the main person seems to be Drew Gulak. The story has allowed some people to get on television for a change and that is a good thing for them. There needs to be something that comes out of it though, and we will be seeing that on Sunday.
This week on SmackDown, Gulak was explaining to Drake Maverick that he knew Bryan’s weaknesses. Bryan came up and challenged Gulak to a match at Elimination Chamber. Later in the night, Gulak accepted the challenge on his Twitter account. Gulak has been taunting Bryan for several weeks and coaching Bryan’s opponents before and during their matches against him.
It sounds interesting. Check out how we got here:
Opinion: Word on the street is that Bryan is having these matches to get his talented friends on television and good for him. Yes it feels like a downgrade for Bryan, but Bryan could be inserted into the main event scene at the drop of a hat if need be. He’s a made man and doesn’t have much time left. After wrestling in the World Title scene for most of the winter, it’s cool to see him step aside and give some other wrestlers a hand up. Now many people would do that, and it doesn’t surprise me at all to see Bryan do it here.
