New First Time Title Match Set For WWE Royal Rumble

It’s time for a title shot. The WWE women’s division has come a very long way and what used to be little more than a joke is now one of the more important things in all of the company. Seeing one of the Women’s Titles on the line is now a big deal and we will get to see that again at the Royal Rumble, as we now have a brand new #1 contender to one of the championships.

The main event of this week’s Monday Night Raw featured Doudrop winning a triple threat match over Liv Morgan and Bianca Belair to become the new #1 contender to Becky Lynch’s Raw Women’s Title. Doudrop’s title match will take place at the Royal Rumble on January 29. The title match will be the first ever singles meeting between Lynch and Doudrop and her second ever Raw Women’s Title shot.

Opinion: While the match might not be the most dramatic in the world, it is the kind of fresh match that we need. Above all else, Doudrop is a fresh challenger and a bit more interesting than having Morgan or Belair get another shot at Lynch. Sometimes you just need some fresh blood in the title scene, even if it is a one off match with Lynch moving on to something more important.
