Another change. Title changes can be a huge deal in wrestling, as you see a move in a new direction. All of a sudden you have a different name at the top and someone is going to be able to face various challengers for the first time. It makes things all the more interesting and sometimes you can see it coming from a good way off. That might not have been the case this time though, as another title has changed hands.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: BREAKING: Inaugural WWE World Heavyweight Champion Crowned At Night Of Champions
This weekend at WWE Night Of Champions, Asuka defeated Bianca Belair to become the Raw Women’s Champion. Asuka won by spraying black mist on her hand and rubbing it into Belair’s eyes to blind her. This was a rematch from WrestleMania 39, where Belair defeated Asuka to win the title. The win marks Asuka’s fourth Women’s Title reign as part of the WWE main roster.
It was a big match. Check out what we saw here, plus at WrestleMania:
Opinion: This is a title change that needed to happen, as Belair had nothing else to do as champion. She held the title for a year and had beaten just about everyone. Let someone new get in there and see what they can do, as it is quite the change over what we were seeing. If nothing else it came after a creative finish, which is always nice to see in a match like this one.
