The first of many. Titles are often the most important things in a wrestling promotion as they show fans the top stars around. Holding a big shiny belt makes things about as clear as they can be and it means a lot when someone gets to win a championship. It can mean even more if it is a special milestone title win and that was the case this weekend as an inaugural champion was crowned.

This weekend at Night Of Champions, Seth Rollins defeated AJ Styles to become the inaugural World Heavyweight Champion. The two had both advanced to the title match by winning a triple threat match and a singles match in previous weeks. The title was introduced last month as the Monday Night Raw World Title as Roman Reigns was drafted to SmackDown, making the title exclusive to the show.

Opinion: This is the logical way to go, as Rollins has been one of the top stars in the company for a long time now. Rollins is presented as one of the biggest stars in WWE and it is no surprise that he is the one chosen to lead Monday Night Raw. Styles was a great choice for the opponent as well, as he is a credible challenger and beating him feels like it means something.
