Everybody in? Roman Reigns has dominated the WWE main event scene like nothing fans have seen in over thirty years. Reigns is currently approaching three and a half years as Universal Champion, having dispatched all kinds of challengers. While he does not defend the title on a full time basis, the title defenses he does have always feel big. Now he is facing a different kind of challenge.

This week’s SmackDown featured a triple threat match between Randy Orton, AJ Styles and LA Knight, with the winner getting the title shot against Reigns at this month’s Royal Rumble. Late in the match, the Bloodline interfered, resulting in a no contest. As a result, SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis announced that Reigns would face all three challengers in a fatal four way match at the Royal Rumble on January 27.
That will be a thing. Check out the three challengers coming after Reigns:
Opinion: That is a way to avoid having Styles or Orton take a fall against Reigns, but it’s also a bit out of character for him. Reigns is a lot of things, including intelligent, and he should know what happens when someone interferes in a #1 contenders match. I like the result, but the path they took to get there could have been done more than a bit more logically, at least from Reigns.
