They’re back. Tonight on Smackdown, Akam and Rezar, known as The Authors of Pain (AOP), made their return to WWE programming, along with their manager Paul Ellering. They allied themselves with Karrion Kross and Scarlett to attack Bobby Lashley and the Street Profits.

You can see the return below:

AOP debuted in NXT in 2016, along with Ellering, and had a successful run with the black and gold brand, including winning the NXT Tag Team Championships. On the April 9 episode of Raw, AOP and Ellering made their main roster debut, defeating Heath Slater and Rhyno. They remained on the main roster until September 4, 2020, when they were released from their WWE contracts. They won the Raw Tag Team Championships during that time.

During their time away from the company, Akam and Rezar were known as the “Legion of Pain”, announced the launch of their professional wrestling promotion, Wrestling Entertainment Series (WES).

Editor’s Opinion:

This is awesome, and I am so glad they were back with the company. The COVID-19 pandemic was a weird time and several superstars who did not deserve to be released, were let go from WWE. I’m glad that they will have the opportunity to show what they can do, because them, along with Ellering, can be an incredible force to be reckoned with. This also is one final chance for Kross, and I think it could work. I’m excited about where this faction can go!
