It’s worth a look. There are a lot of wrestlers out there in the world and some of them get a higher priority than others. That could be the case for a lot of reasons, but one of the highest up on the list is having success in another more mainstream sport. One of the biggest of all is mixed martial arts, which has brought WWE a lot of success in the forms of Ronda Rousey and Brock Lesnar. So why not a third one?
According to Fightful Select by way of Ringsidenews.com, WWE is keeping a close eye on Cain Velasquez, who made his in-ring debut for AAA over the weekend at TripleMania. Velasquez, 37 years old, is a former UFC Heavyweight Champion and took the title from Lesnar. He is planning on wrestling at least two more matches and WWE is interested in how things go for him.
Velasquez did look good in his debut. Check out some clips from his first match:
Opinion: I can’t say I blame WWE for being interested. Velasquez is someone from the same sport that has offered them a lot of success before so maybe he’s worth a shot. He certainly looked fine in his debut so maybe it can work in NXT or WWE. Seeing Lesnar’s face if Velasquez ever showed up on Monday Night Raw could be outstanding in its own right.
Do you think Velasquez will do well in wrestling? Will he ever sign with WWE? Let us know in the comments below.
