Start making the card. We are less than a month away from the next NXT Takeover and this is one of the most unique editions in history. This time around, the show will be held over two nights instead of one. That is going to make things a little bit different and that may or may not be a good thing. It means that the card needs to be set up though and now we have our main event.
The NXT Title is a big deal as it is a near guaranteed trip up to the main roster. There have been some very high profile champions over the years and you can see a lot of them on Monday Night Raw and SmackDown today. One of the rarer things is seeing someone hold the title twice, though Finn Balor is pulling that off now. Someone else wants a chance to do so though and it could get rough.
This week on NXT, Balor agreed to defend the NXT Title against former champion Karrion Kross at Takeover: Stand & Deliver. The match comes after Kross stared Balor down to end last week’s show. Kross won the title in August but was forced to vacate it due to a shoulder injury suffered during the match. It is not clear on which night of Takeover the match will take place.
We’re ready. Check out how the title match was set up:
Opinion: This is the only logical match left for Balor at the moment and it makes sense to put it on one of the biggest shows of the year. Kross has a completely legitimate claim to the title that he never lost and Balor was the next person to hold the championship. I’m not sure if Balor drops the title here or not, but it is the right way to go and could be a heck of a fight.
