They need opponents. We are less than two weeks away from Survivor Series and that means the card needs to be set up in full pretty soon. That has never stopped WWE before though as you know they like to take their time. If nothing else just look at what happened during their previous regular pay per view, which only had a handful of matches until the weekend of the show. Things are not that dire this time around, but they aren’t giving themselves a lot of time either.

This week on WWE Backstage, the men’s SmackDown Survivor Series team was announced for the five on five on five elimination tag team match. The announcement comes one day after Monday Night Raw’s Survivor Series team was announce, with Captain Seth Rollins joining Randy Orton, Kevin Owens, Ricochet and Drew McIntyre. No members of the NXT team have been announced as of yet. So who has been announced for Team SmackDown?

But first, how did we get here? Check out the NXT invasion:

The SmackDown Survivor Series team will consist of Captain Roman Reigns, Braun Strowman, Ali, Shorty G and King Corbin. Reigns, Shorty G and Ali were all part of Team Hogan at this month’s Crown Jewel event when they defeated Team Flair. Corbin defeated Reigns last week on SmackDown, with an assist from Robert Roode and Dolph Ziggler. Strowman has been dealing with Tyson Fury, though the two came to an understanding this week on Monday Night Raw.

Opinion: Works for me. This is the kind of match where you can throw together almost any combination of wrestlers and have a decent enough match and these five had to get on the card in some way. If nothing else, WWE will be able to hype up the idea of Rollins vs. Reigns as they continue to get everything they can out of the Shield. The match has some potential though and that is the best thing you can say about something like this.
