He’s done? Retirement in wrestling is a tricky situation as you can see wrestlers sticking around for a very long time. It can be fascinating to see just how long a wrestler can stay in the ring at a high level, which is something that happens every so often. It is the case to this day in AEW, but now it seems that one veteran is now ready to hang up his boots, which he started this week.

This week’s AEW Collision featured the House of Black defeating Billy Gunn and the Acclaimed to successfully retain the AEW Trios Titles. Following the match, which saw Gunn get pinned, Gunn took off his wrestling boots and left them in the ring, which is a sign of retirement. There is no word on if Gunn, 59 years old, is officially retiring or if this is part of a storyline.
Gunn has the experience. Check out his time in AEW:
Opinion: I’m not sure what is going on here but at the end of the day, Gunn is going to be 60 years old before the end of the year. While he is still in great shape and certainly seems to be doing fine in the ring, at some point he is going to have to think about retiring. Maybe this is it for him and if so then it has been a great run, but there is a difference between retiring for good and hanging around with the Acclaimed, so perhaps he has more left in him.
