IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: New Way? SmackDown Tag Team Seems To Undergo Gimmick Change
The ending of this week’s Monday Night Raw saw The Rock attack Cody Rhodes, leaving him covered in blood as the show went off the air. This goes against the company’s normal status of not using blood. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, this is not likely to be a major change, though blood could be used for major storylines. The Rock in particular was allowed to use it in his segment as he is one of the company’s biggest stars. The rulings against blood were a Vince McMahon rule, with the change showing that McMahon’s ways are continuing to be dropped.

Opinion: While I don’t need to see a bloodbath every week and as a part of every story, there is something to be said for having it as part of an intense brawl. Blood has been a part of wrestling for a very long time now and having it involved in certain instances like this one is hardly some horrible thing. It can be done safely and by people who know what they are doing so if they can make it work, why not have it in the toolbox?
