Put me in coach. It doesn’t happen often in WWE, but sometimes someone who has worked there before goes on to a career in mainstream sports. That was the case with Jonathan Coachman, who started as a standard interviewer and wound up turning into a low level, mostly bumbling, villain. He then moved on to ESPN as an anchor, but things are changing.

As announced on his Twitter, Coachman has said that he is leaving ESPN. There is no reason given with Coachman only saying that it’s time for him to go. Coachman started working for ESPN in 2008 and covered WWE on and off for a few months. He worked for WWE from 1999-2008.

I could watch Rock abuse Coach every day.

Opinion: Coachman never was one of my favorites in WWE but he was entertaining as a stooge for various people. I can’t imagine he comes back to WWE full time but having him show up as a big deal cameo would make sense. It’s nice to have that as an option (assuming Coachman is interested) and hopefully WWE goes somewhere with it.
