The cowboy rides away. James Storm is one of the few names still around from Impact Wrestling’s earliest days. Storm wrestled on the first show in the company’s history and has won almost everything there is to win in the company. However, his time with the company seems to be coming to an end.

After tonight’s “Impact Wrestling” taping, Storm posted a message on his Twitter account talking about a door closing with the caption “thank you Storm”. Storm’s departure had been suggested for weeks, including by Storm himself on a recent conference call. Storm left Impact Wrestling in 2015 for a quick run in NXT but was back to Impact Wrestling in 2016.

Here’s what happened the last time Storm left the company.

James Storm vs. Danny Burch: WWE NXT, Oct. 21, 2015

Opinion: Honestly, it’s not like Storm had anything left to do in the company and I can understand why he left. It was clear that he wasn’t going to win the World Title again and, at age forty, there’s only so much he can do in the company. I’m not sure if we’ll see him again, but it was a heck of a career while he was around.
