Sharks all over the Mundo! Wrestling seems to be a natural fit with acting as the people in the ring are playing characters. While this seems simple on paper, it doesn’t always play out that way. Many wrestlers have no success in acting because they’re just not very good in the area. Some do better than others however and one wrestler is getting another chance to join the latter group.

According to Wrestlinginc.com, John Hennigan (Johnny Mundo/John Morrison) will be appearing in the upcoming film “Sharknado 5”, which will premiere on August 6. The franchise has featured wrestlers throughout its history, including Seth Rollins, Chris Jericho and Kurt Angle in previous entries.

Opinion: I’ve always liked what Roddy Piper said about wrestlers who act: “When I was a wrestler, they said I was just acting. When I was acting, they said I was just a wrestler.” Hopefully that’s not the case with Morrison as he seems to have the potential to be a decent on-screen performer. He did well in his film “Boone: The Bounty Hunter” so maybe that’s the case here as well.
