Good to see you again. With “Impact Wrestling” looking to reclaim some of its past glory, it would make sense or it to move over to a place where the company had success before. Some of the company’s best days were during its time on Spike TV and now the show is returning to the network…..at least the British version. “Impact Wrestling” will be moving back to Spike TV in the UK this coming Friday and Jeff Jarrett has been talking about the show’s new home.

In an interview with the “Burton Mail”, Jarrett spoke about what the move means for “Impact Wrestling”, how he hopes to meet fans’ expectations, and his thoughts on the current British wrestling scene. Here are some highlights of the interview, with a link to the full version below.

On how things have changed since their debut in 2002:

“But, in those 15 years, the word has changed so much and so has the industry of professional wrestling. The advent of computers and social media has meant that fans have gone from wanting something every week to wanting something ever few hours – this means that we will supplement our show on Spike with even more social and web content to ensure we are engaging with our fans in the best way that we can.”

On what fans can expect when they tune in:

“Viewers will be able to see a mix of heavyweight, tag team, womens and X Division wrestling when they tune into Impact on Spike,” he added. There is really something for everyone. I am aiming to use mine and my family’s 70 years of experience in the industry to try and put on a great show week in and week out. But the most important thing is our fans and making sure they are having fun and enjoying what they are seeing. We will do this by giving top talent an opportunity like we have done in the past with the likes of AJ Styles – now a global superstar – and Bobby Roode.”

And the importance of the UK market:

“The UK is one of our best audiences and the fans are incredible. We always loved coming over here for our live shows and bringing those back is one of our top priorities as part of our efforts to be a major player in this industry. This, now more than ever, in terms of the UK is so important because it has one of the hottest wrestling scenes in the world and we want to tap into that in terms of giving fans what they want and also ensuring we take a look and use the great array of talent available in this great nation.”

Opinion: I know the company gets a lot of flack, but “Impact Wrestling’s” UK shows are always a lot of fun and very high energy. It makes a lot of sense for the company to want to focus on the UK market again as they’ve certainly benefited from a strong presence there in the past.
