She isn’t a fan. There are several WWE television shows that air every week and that can make for quite the rigid schedule. With so much television time to fill, WWE has to come up with some different ways to draw fans’ interest. That can require some changes from time to time, but one powerful WWE name has cut off a potentially game changing move for WWE TV.
Over the last month, stories have circulated on WWE considering a move back to TV-14 for Monday Night Raw, though the decision was made to not go forward with the change. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, the decision to not make a change may have been due to co-CEO Stephanie McMahon feeling that it was not needed. WWE is seen as on the rise compared to AEW, which is no longer rising up as it was before. Therefore, WWE does not need to make a change, causing Monday Night Raw to remain TV-PG for the time being.
Opinion: I’m glad to hear this, as there is little reason to believe that suddenly making everything more adult was going to be some game changer. Wrestling at a PG level can still be entertaining if the action and wrestlers are interesting and that is the kind of change that WWE has been making in recent weeks. At the same time, with AEW pretty much staying in one place, is there really a need for WWE to shake things up?
