You need to move forward. Earlier this month, several wrestlers were released from WWE on the same day, with some of them being rather big surprises. That made for a rather interesting day, but also a rather interesting future, as the wrestlers needed somewhere new to go. That meant figuring out a new identity for themselves, as WWE was going to own most of their details. One wrestler has figured out a new path.
According to 411mania.com, recently released WWE star Peyton Royce has filed a trademark application for the name “Cassie Lee” to replace the Royce name, which is owned by WWE. Royce’s real first name is Cassie and she wrestled under the name on the independent circuit before coming to WWE. Royce was one of the nine wrestlers released from WWE on April 15, along with her former partner in the Iiconics, Billie Kay.
You might need to get to know her under the new moniker. Check out Royce under her three ring names:
Opinion: This is the kind of thing that is going to mean a lot going forward. A wrestler’s name has a lot to do with their identity and it can make all of the difference in the world. Royce is a very talented wrestler and I’m still surprised that she was released. WWE letting her go was a strange moment but hopefully she lands on her feet. There are going to be multiple promotions wanting to bring her in and that is going to make for a pretty interesting bidding process.
What do you think of the name? Where will she wind up? Let us know in the comments below.
