That would be an upgrade. “Impact Wrestling” has moved around the airwaves a lot, airing on four different networks and six different nights of the week. Their most successful run was on Spike TV where the aired for nearly ten years, starting in October 2005 and wrapping up in December 2014. Things have gone downhill since then but there is some news that might be a positive sign for TNA.

According to Prowrestlingsheet.com, Spike TV executive Scott Fishman, who was a major player in advancing the show in its early days on the network, was present at the most recent “Impact Wrestling” tapings. This is even more important as “Impact Wrestling” was recently able to secure a TV deal with Spike TV UK. There is no word on if an American version will be signed.

Opinion: If they can pull this off, great for “Impact Wrestling”. At the end of the day, Pop TV isn’t going to get them anywhere with the pitiful few hundred thousand viewers a week. Spike TV may not be what it used to be but it’s a MAJOR upgrade over what they’re on now. The fact that a bigger network is willing to look at the show is a positive sign and if it gives them more stability, that’s great.
