There’s always something good about being positive. At times, wrestlers seem like they can be invincible. How else could they manage to do everything they do in the ring and keep walking the next day? At times, it is almost impossible to believe that anything could actually happen to them, which makes it even harder to believe when something does. At the same time though, hearing a positive update about them is always nice.
On Friday night, news broke that Hacksaw Jim Duggan was going into the hospital for reasons that were not clear. Duggan, 65, was forced to pull out of an autograph signing over the weekend as a result. On Saturday, Duggan’s wife Debra made a post to Instagram, showing a photo of Duggan smiling and giving a thumbs up from a hospital bed. Duggan underwent two surgeries in less than twenty four hours, both of which were to clean out an infection. The second surgery is believed to have gotten all of the infection out. There is no word on when Duggan will be back to full strength.
Duggan is a legend in his own right. Check out his well deserved Hall of Fame video:
Opinion: This is quite the relief to hear as Duggan is one of the bright spots from quite a few childhoods. Yes he was goofy, but he was the kind of goofy that was so lovable and it was hard to not like him at least a little bit. Hearing that he is likely to make a recovery is a nice update and hopefully he’ll be back to everything he regularly does in no time, as he’s very good at being a wrestling legend.
