Hand him the crown. Over the last few weeks, WWE has presented its King of the Ring tournament for the first time since 2015. The tournament winners have a hit and miss record of success after winning the crown, but there are certainly instances of it rocketing careers into the sky. That may be the case with this year’s winner and now we know who that is.
This week on Monday Night Raw, Baron Corbin defeated Chad Gable to win the 2019 King of the Ring tournament for the first time in his career. Both came to the finals in strange circumstances as Corbin won the first triple threat match in King of the Ring history and Gable defeated Shane McMahon in a 2/3 falls match when McMahon replaced an injured Elias. Corbin’s coronation will take place this week on SmackDown Live.
All hail. Check out the hot final:
Opinion: I know Corbin isn’t the most popular guy in the world and I’m certainly not a fan of his either. However, this run has been very strong for him and if he isn’t on the show every ten seconds, they might have something with him. Just don’t run him down our throats so much and maybe he can be the star that they clearly see in him, even if regular fans might not.
