You might want to hold onto that. Titles are one of the simplest concepts in all of wrestling. Anyone can understand the idea that someone holding a shiny belt is one of the most important people in the company. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Comeback? Former WWE Tag Team Champions Talk Possible Return After 7 Year Absence
Former WWE Superstar Maven has posted a new video where he discusses his time as Hardcore Champion. Maven talked about how was allowed to keep the physical title while champion and told a story about taking it to a bar one night. The title was left in his car, which was towed while Maven was in the bar, resulting in him having to pay $500 to get his car out of the impound lot. He had to go so far as to wake up the lot’s owner to make sure he got the belt back before an early morning flight. Maven was a three time Hardcore Champion, holding the title between February 5, 2002 and March 26, 2002.
It was kind of memorable. Check out the title in action:
Opinion: This is one of those things that happens occasionally and might not have been known for a very long time. What matters most is Maven managed to get the belt in time for his appearances, as his career could have been in serious trouble otherwise. The Hardcore Title was one of the highlights of Maven’s career and thankfully he was responsible enough to figure things out just in time.
