It makes sense to have him around. We are less than six weeks away from WrestleMania 36 and that means it’s time to hit the gas towards Tampa. There are a lot of things that need to be done before we get there though and that includes helping to set up the WWE Championship match. Drew McIntyre is on a roll to get there, but some big wins would help him out. That was the case on Monday.
Over the last few weeks, Seth Rollins and company has been one of the biggest stories on Monday Night Raw. Rollins has assembled an army to help him spread his message across the show and has seen some great success, including winning the Tag Team Titles with Murphy. There are more things for him to accomplish as a singles wrestler though, and that was what he was doing on Monday.
According to Wrestlinginc.com, this week’s post Monday Night Raw dark match saw McIntyre defeat Rollins in a singles match, which lasted about fifteen minutes. McIntyre did not appear in the arena during the show but did appear in a sitdown interview. Rollins appeared during the show and interfered in a match, but did not wrestle. McIntyre vs. Rollins has been rumored as a program for later this year.
They’ve fought before. Check out some previous editions of their match:
Opinion: This is the kind of match that could help McIntyre in the long run. While he already has the experience to work at this level, it helps establish him as a main event level star. Rollins is someone viewed as a top star in the company and having him put McIntyre over makes a lot of sense. I could see these two fighting for the World Title later in the year and that could go rather well.
