I’d call it a compliment. Whether you like him or not, Vince McMahon is the ultimate decision maker in the world of wrestling. No one comes close to his level of power and influence and he is able to to make or break someone’s career in the blink of an eye. That is quite the power to have and while he might not be what he was before, McMahon still knows how to spot a star when he sees one. Or three in this case.
A little over five years ago, the New Day made their in-ring debut as a tag team, setting off one of the most successful and lucrative runs in recent WWE history. They have racked up titles, catchphrases, odd ways to make the fans cheer for them and more success than they know what to do with. They are an undeniable hit, but they have come a long time. How did things go at the start?
The team is a big deal. Check out some of their greatest hits:
On the debut episode of their Feel The Power podcast, New Day talked about what happened when McMahon heard what would become their theme song for the first time. According to New Day, McMahon started tapping his foot to the music and then began to dance, with Kofi Kingston saying he had never seen McMahon dance like this, describing it as incredible.
McMahon likes getting involved with New Day. Check out him invading their recent promo:
Opinion: Is this really that surprising? McMahon is known for his dancing, with the quality levels being debatable at best. At the end of the day, the New Day’s theme song is one of their strongest aspects as it energizes the fans and gets them on their feet in a hurry. McMahon seems to like it and if it has his endorsement, the team is going to be in a good place. Selling that many t-shirts helped too.
