You have to draw the line somewhere. Whether you’re a fan of AEW or not, it is hard to argue that Double Or Nothing worked quite well. The show seemed to draw a nice audience and the show received a fair bit of praise from most critics. However, there is more to AEW than one pay per view, which means things that worked there might not work out as well in the future. That is something that one of their stars has addressed.
According to Fightful.com by way of Ringsidenews.com, Jimmy Havoc has said that AEW will have less blood and swearing going forward. This comes after Dustin Rhodes’ heavy amount of blood loss at Double Or Nothing. There is no word on whether or not bleeding will be banned, or if this will be the case on both pay per views or the upcoming television show on TNT.
Havoc loves to fight. Check him out in Monster’s Ball in Impact Wrestling:
Opinion: You had to know something like this was coming. The Rhodes blade job at Double Or Nothing may have been entertaining, but it’s not going to fly on national television. I’m not sure if this rule is going to apply for pay per view, but a network like TNT is not going to let something that gory air when the show is being presented as a sport. I get why fans want to see it, though that doesn’t mean it’s in a place where it should be seen.
