The Ending to the Women’s Title Match at “Payback” Was Changed 4 Times

Run that by me again. One of the big matches at this past Sunday’s “Payback 2017” saw Bayley defending the Raw Women’s Title in her hometown of San Jose. In her way was Alexa Bliss, who didn’t think much of Bayley being all sweet and happy in her hometown. While Bliss won the title, it turns out that things were rapidly changing all day backstage.

According to the “Wrestling Observer Newsletter” by way of Wrestlinginc.com, the winner of the match was changed multiple times throughout the course of the thirty hours prior to the start of the show. There is no word on why WWE kept going back and forth between Bliss and Bayley but the feud seems to be continuing with a likely rematch taking place at “Extreme Rules 2017” in June.

Opinion: While I’m not wild on having Bayley lose in her hometown, the win made Bliss look like a star, which is something she hadn’t done yet at this point in her career. She had looked impressive but this win took her to a different level. Going back and forth on the winner that many times makes me think that there’s a long way to go in this feud.
