It was a bad one. There are all kinds of injuries in the wrestling world and you never know when someone is going to be put on the shelf. These are things that happen to wrestlers on a regular basis and sometimes they can change the way a match is supposed to go. That seems to have been the case again this week and now we know a bit more about why things went the way they did.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT:They’re Not Happy: Wrestling World Reacts To This Week’s WWE Releases
This week on AEW Dynamite, Rey Fenix defeated Jon Moxley to become the new AEW International Champion. The match saw Moxley injured, reportedly suffering a concussion. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Moxley called the audible to have Fenix win the title as he knew something was wrong. Since he wasn’t knocked out, neither Fenix, the referee or the ringside doctor knew that anything was wrong, hence the match not stopping. There is no word on when Moxley will return to the ring.
Moxley is still one of the biggest stars in AEW. Check out some of his efforts:
Opinion: Hopefully Moxley is better soon as head injuries are nothing to joke about. Moxley got hit pretty hard on Wednesday and it isn’t a surprise that he got hurt as a result. That doesn’t make it any better though, and now we have nothing to do but wait and hope that he can get back in the ring quickly. At the very least, maybe he can finally take a bit of a break from the ring as he heals up.
What do you think of Moxley’s time in AEW? What is next for him when he gets back? Let us know in the comments below.
