That could have been worse. Wrestlers are often presented as larger than life characters who are able to do whatever they want in the ring. It can be amazing to see what they are able to do, but they have regular problems just like everyone else. This can include health issues, some of which are rather serious. Now we know a bit more about what happened to a WWE Hall Of Famer.

During an interview with Busted Open Radio, D-Von Dudley detailed a stroke that he suffered in 2020. Dudley said that he “almost didn’t make it” and thanked his wife for realizing what was going on. He was left with 25% on his left side (he did not specify what he meant) and underwent physical therapy to rebuild his side. Following his stroke, he also underwent back fusion surgery less than a year later. Dudley is scheduled to appear at Impact 1000 on September 9.

Opinion: That is a scary situation and Dudley is right to make it sound as serious as he did. What matters most is that Dudley survived and he seems to be mostly back to health. If that is the case, it will be nice to have him at Impact 1000, as that is the kind of milestone appearance that he has earned. Either way, at least things are going better for him, as it could have been that much worse.
