That’s a long time. One of the biggest recurring themes in WWE over the course of 2023 was wrestlers returning after long times away. Two such returns took place at Survivor Series, with both Randy Orton and CM Punk making surprise returns. Both have since wrestled on the WWE live event circuit, and one such match marked the end o a someone surprising losing streak.

Over the weekend, WWE presented a live event in Spokane, Washington. The show featured a match between Randy Orton and Dominik Mysterio, with Orton picking up the win. According to Ringsidenews.com, this is the first singles match Orton has won at a WWE live event since January 12, 2020, when he defeated AJ Styles. During the time between wins, Orton often wrestled in tag matches and had been out of action for over a year with an injury,

Opinion: This is one of those things that is more of a quirk than anything else, as Orton was mainly either a tag wrestler or on the shelf for a good while. It’s nice to see Orton back in the ring and it is always special to have him back in the ring anywhere at any level. He can still do all kinds of things in the ring and it would be great to see him appearing on live events as well as television.
