He got it. We are less than two weeks away from WrestleMania 39, which also includes WrestleMania Weekend. WWE will be presenting all kinds of things over the time they are spending in Los Angeles and there are some events that do not involve wrestling. One of these is among the most prestigious nights that WWE offers all year and now we know another person involved.

Variety has announced that comedian Andy Kaufman will be inducted into the WWE Hall Of Fame as part of the Class of 2023. Kaufman had a famous feud with Jerry Lawler in Memphis in the early 1980s, during the same time that he was appearing on the sitcom Taxi. Kaufman and Lawler also appeared on Late Night With David Letterman where Lawler slapped him. There is no word on who will be inducting Kaufman at the ceremony, which will be held March 31.

Opinion: That is one of the most logical celebrity inductions that WWE could have. While Kaufman never worked in WWE, he was one of the few celebrities who “got” wrestling. It came off like he understood the concept and could do quite a few things with the sport. That is what happened and if he had been around longer, there is no telling what else he could have made work.
