Y’all come back now? We are in a different world in WWE these days, as Vince McMahon is out of power after about forty years of running the company. As a result, several wrestlers have already made their return to the company, which has reset a lot of things about the television shows. That seems like a possibility with a big star, but now we know a lot more about how bad things got with him before.
According to Fightful Select, Bray Wyatt’s name is being mentioned backstage in WWE with his name being pitched for a possible return. Wyatt was released in WWE in July 2021 with budget cuts cited as the reason, McMahon was said reportedly “done” with Wyatt and would regularly mock his physique. This likely was the result of Wyatt complaining about the creative direction of his character.
Wrestlers who have worked with Wyatt disagreed with assertions that he had a bad attitude or was difficult to work with, instead saying that he was being punished for his complaints about WWE creative. Wyatt’s release was also said to be a a blow to WWE morale, as Wyatt was popular and successful with merchandise sales. Therefore, if he was someone who could be released, almost anyone could.
There is a chance that Wyatt could be brought back as Triple H would be interested in anyone who can make WWE money. At the time, there is no guarantee that Wyatt will be returning though and his name only being discussed at the moment, along with several others. Wyatt has not wrestled since WrestleMania 37 when he was defeated by Randy Orton.
Opinion: This is the kind of thing that gives me hope for the future, but also opens up a lot of interest in how bad things were for some wrestlers under McMahon. If it was that bad for Wyatt, how bad could it be for someone who might not bring in that much money? I’m not sure how well things are going to go under Triple H, but the lack of some of these McMahon issues should help.
What do you think of Wyatt? Will he return to WWE? Let us know in the comments below.
