Beat the Clock Challenge Set for “Smackdown Live”

That’s one way to do it. The “Smackdown Live” tag team division is in need of some freshening up as it seems to have been the Usos vs. American Alpha for months now. The Superstar Shakeup helped things out a bit but now the Usos need new challengers. Thankfully we don’t have another triple threat match to set up these challengers though as WWE is dusting off an older idea instead.

This week on “Monday Night Raw”, it was announced that “Smackdown Live” will see a Beat the Clock Challenge with American Alpha, the Colons, Ascension and Breezango. The four teams will face unannounced opponents and the team who wins in the shortest amount of time will receive a Tag Team Title shot at some point down the road, possibly at “Backlash 2017”.

Opinion: These things are hit and miss for me as the matches are often so short that they don’t have time to go anywhere but they don’t drag on for the sake of dragging on. I could actually see Breezango getting the shot, which would be more interesting than seeing American Alpha getting another match with the Usos. If nothing else it’s something different, which is what WWE needs at the moment.
